I got stuck playing around with the camera and somehow ended up rebuilding the entire transition between the main menu and the gameplay itself. So, let’s talk about the changes that have been made!

Menu transition

The long-awaited new seamless transition between the main menu and the process where the player dives into the game is finally here. Many old elements have been replaced and changed to achieve this. This has caused many bugs to appear. I’ll try my best to catch and fix them ASAP.

New counters and indicators

All the indicators have been redesigned. You now have a score on the right of your screen and two indicators on the left. The timer shows how much time is left before the current power-up is deactivated. The spaceship’s engine glow was previously used to show overheating, but this has now been replaced with a dedicated indicator at the bottom of the screen. This should make it more obvious.

Add some music.

There is a simple looping soundtrack in the background now. Before, I only used a kind of space ambience, but now the game has something similar to music. :)
