Update #2


Hey there!
New day, new update!

I've tried hard to express everything I've worked on, but there isn't really much to say about the player experience.

New build

I finally published the first macOS build! I want to let more people play the game without limiting them to specific platforms. Building for Apple systems is even more challenging for me now. MacOS players have to go through some steps to get the game to run, and there is not much I can do about it yet.

Visual changes

There are at least two "chargers" that the player has to see on the screen throughout the entire playing session. I think about redesigning them, so you will be able to see some experiments with this. The other parts of the UI should be updated ASAP too, but I don't have much experience or inspiration maybe to create something pretty and handy :/

Bug fixes

In the last builds, I fixed the missing model for the magma asteroid that was added in the previous update.
As I said earlier, the bugs are piling up and I need to sit down and fix them, but I also want to add more features to the game process. In that case, I will only increase the patch version of the builds, because that seems fairest.

Short list of known bugs:
  • if you fly to the far left or right with the spaceship turned in that direction, you can beat any score almost without problem
  • the spaceship has non-ideal collision checking, so it's common to crash into an asteroid without losing the game
  • bullets turn exactly as the spaceship does
  • ice asteroids bounce off bullets
