Practical Update - v0.8.6
I’m gald you’re reading this post! Today, I want to share with you an overview of what I’ve been doing in the last update.
Additional controls
You can now turn the spaceship using the A and D buttons instead of the left and right arrows keys.
High Score
Tired of constantly getting a game over with no visible progress? Now, after each run, your score will be compared to the highest one and updated as needed. Your high score is now always stored on your device.
Adjusted some parameters
I have recalculated several variables that determine how quickly your score increases. In this update, passive scoring has been decreased twice, but magma asteroids now give you double the score.
More beauty
This part is pretty simple in the description but not that simple in the implementation. Firstly, there are death particles after the spaceship is destroyed. Secondly, the hyper-jump animation was changed to be less rough and more interesting, I guess.
New complication
Before, the player could shoot as much as they wanted. Because of that, I had to add something to patch it. So I added an overheating to the laser gun. Each shot adds heat, and it take time to cool down. You will be unable to use your laser gun if it overheats. You will have to wait for it to cool down. You can track the current state of overheating by looking at the color of the engine’s glow (in the tail of the spaceship). Changes are possible in the future.
Thank you for playing. I’d be very grateful if you could report any bugs you discover. Alternatively, you can leave a comment with your thoughts about the game :)
